Poker Creek’s port of entry will reopen in the summer of 2022 after two years of closure. The port is currently scheduled to open on June 1, 2022 and close on September 1, 2022. The weather may affect these dates, so anyone planning to make the trip should plan ahead. accordingly.
Operating hours will be different from previous years. The harbor will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Alaska Standard Time). Travelers are reminded that Alaska is one hour behind the time in Yukon, Canada.
CBP encourages travelers who need an I-94 (non-US or Canadian citizens) to use the CBP One mobile app or visit the CBP I-94 website: https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/ I94 / # / home – to apply for your I-94. Travelers receive a provisional I-94 after submitting their application and online payment. If you do not request it in advance, travelers must have the exact change ($ 6 USD) available upon arrival at Poker Creek Harbor.
CBP also wants to remind travelers to avoid bringing their Canadian firewood to the U.S.
