Video-Chat am Online-Pokertisch ist kein Novum
PokerStars is not just a video game with a video chat feature. The Online Poker Room of 888 has been unveiled in its 2011 edition of the PokerCam Tables. Allerdings war der Erfolg nur mäßig.
888 gilt zudem als Vorreiter für private Online-Pokerrunden. Während des Lockdowns hat der Online-Poker-Anbieter erneut die Werbetrommel für dieses Feature gerührt und fügte zudem eine mobile Version hinzu.
Während des Lockdowns waren Spielbanken und Poker-Rooms geschlossen. Auch in Clubs und Vereinen mussten die Spieler auf Live-Action am Pokertisch verzichten. The Online Poker Giant GGPoker will be available in August 2020 without a SnapCam function. Allerdings handelt es sich dabei nicht um ein Cam-Chat-Feature. With SnapCam, you can use the video clip to display the video, which is the most popular video.
Wie GGPoker erklärte, solle auf diese Weise die Interaktion zwischen den Spielern gefördert und das Spielerlebnis optimiert werden. Zudem haben GGPoker-Spieler seit Januar 2022 die Möglichkeit, GIPHY beim Spielen zu verwenden, um ihre Emotionen mit den Mitspielern zu teilen:

Wie die neue Video-Chat-Funktion von PokerStars bei den Spielern ankommt, wird sich nach den ersten Feedbacks zeigen. Es könnte allerdings die Frage gestellt werden, warum der Online-Poker-Anbieter dieses Feature erst jetzt einführt und es nicht bereits vor zwei Jahren an den Start gebracht hat, als die Menschen wegen des Lockdowns zu Hause bleiben mussten.
